Hospitalization fees

Hospitalization fees are calculated on a monthly basis.
Please pay within 10 days of receiving the invoice.

Invoicing during discharge

Payments are generally made at a later date. The invoice will be mailed to your home.
If you would prefer to pay on the day of discharge or have the invoice sent somewhere other than your home, talk to the staff in advance.

Invoicing during hospitalization

If you are hospitalized past the end of a month, the invoice for the previous month will be delivered to your room around the 11th of the following month.

Health insurance card checks

Submit your health insurance card during admission and to the inpatient ward.
If you are unable to submit your insurance card due to an emergency, etc., we will check it later.
If there are any changes to your insurance card, promptly inform us.

Keeping your receipts

Keep your receipts safe.
If you need proof of payment (paid), go to the #2 First-time Patients counter.

Private rooms

If you would like a private room, talk to a nurse. Fill out the “Application to Use a Private Room”. Please understand that we may not be able to accommodate your preferences.
The fee for private rooms is a daily fee.
(If you are hospitalized for one night and two days, you will be billed for two days.)

Private room B 5,500 yen 164 room toilet

*However, no taxes are applied to hospitalizations for childbirth.

Calculation of hospitalization fees

Hospitalization fees for this hospital are calculated using the “diagnosis procedure combination” (DPC) method.
This method classifies costs based on the combination of the injury/disease, the primary corresponding procedure performed, and any complications in order to calculate the base fee per class per inpatient per day.
It is generally calculated based on the injury or disease for which hospitalization and treatment are provided, but if the combination of items changes during hospitalization, the base fee may also change midway.
If you are hospitalized for the following reasons, fees will be calculated according to the set price for each medical procedure rather than with DPC.
1. Hospitalization for dental care
2. Organ transplants
3. Hospitalization without an insurance card (normal delivery, work injury, traffic accident, etc.)
4. Injuries, diseases, and medical procedures stipulated by DPC rules to be calculated cumulatively

Guidance on the Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application

For inpatients under age 70 and inpatients ages 70 and over that are responsible for 30% of the medical fees, if you submit the “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application” if you have high medical costs, payments only need to be made up to the ceiling amount determined by your income.

*In order to be issued an “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application”, you (or a family member) must submit an application to your insurer. When the “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application” is delivered, submit it to the #2 First-time Patients counter on the 1st floor. The hospital can also perform the submission procedure on your behalf.

If the hospital performs the submission procedure on your behalf

Based on the “Online Qualification Check System for Health Insurance Cards with a My Number Card” policy, we can perform the submission procedure on your behalf if we have your consent. After admission, admissions payment staff will come to your room and ask whether they can confirm your qualifications for the “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application”. Depending on your participation in the insurance scheme, we may not be able to act on your behalf. In such case, we will explain the submission procedure to you.

*The “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application” generally applies from the first day of the month the application was submitted. If the application is submitted late, the month of admission will not be covered. Submit the application promptly.

*If you do not submit your “Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application”, you will be required to pay the portion of the medical fees stipulated by your health insurance card. If you perform this procedure later through your insurer, the cost that exceeds the ceiling amount will be refunded by your insurer.

*Meals, gowns, and other costs not covered by insurance (private rooms, medical certificates, etc.) are not covered under this system.
