Hospitalization

Preparations for hospitalization and day of admission

Prior to admission

If you or someone close to you has an infectious disease
If you or someone close to you, such as someone you live with, is infected with an infectious disease (see below) right before your admission, call the outpatient department in advance.
– Influenza
– Infectious gastroenteritis
– Measles
– Chickenpox
– Rubella
– Erythema infectiosum (fifth disease)
– Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (pink eye)
– COVID-19, etc.

Parking lot

Inpatients are prohibited from parking a car in the parking lot.
You must talk to the staff in advance if you need to park your car.

Procedure on the day of admission

Go to the #2 First-time Patients counter.

Things required for life in the hospital

□ Chopsticks, spoon, etc.
□ Underwear
□ Sleepwear / Pajamas

Decide whether to wear your own sleepwear/pajamas or to rent a gown from the hospital.

Fee:  66 yen (incl. tax) per day
Replacement:  Twice a week (or when dirty)

□ Footwear for inside Non-slip footwear that covers your heels
□ Tissues
□ Toiletries, hair products Toothbrush, body soap, shampoo, razor, etc.
□ Small pouch or bag For holding your wallet or other valuables when you are away from your bed.
Minimize the amount of cash you have, and refrain from bringing your valuables.
□ Earphones Earphones must be worn when watching TV.
□ Masks Wear a mask in the hospital.
We recommend non-woven masks.
□ Paper diapers

Decide whether to bring your own or purchase the flat-rate set from a vendor. Prepare plastic bags for disposal in either case.

Life during hospitalization

Daily flow

Meals

Diet is one aspect of treatment at the hospital. Do not bring in food or drinks from the outside. For testing, operation, and treatment purposes, food and drink may be restricted.

Hygiene

You need permission from a doctor to take a bath or shower. Take a shower during the time specified by the ward. If you are not permitted to shower, you will be wiped down by a nurse.

Accompanying patients

You do not generally need to be accompanied. The doctor will decide whether you can be accompanied. Tell the ward staff if you would like to be accompanied.

Going out / sleeping away from the hospital

Permission is required from a doctor. Talk to the ward staff.

Explanations of medical conditions

This will generally be performed on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Getting examinations or medication from other hospitals

For insurance reasons, you cannot get examinations or medication from another hospital while hospitalized at this hospital. Family members cannot retrieve medication on your behalf.

– Apply during hospitalization through the nurses’ station in the ward.
– To apply after discharge, talk to your primary outpatient physician.

Forms for life insurance companies

– We generally cannot handle such forms while you are hospitalized. Apply after discharge.
– Reception location: #3 Admission Support Center
– Reception hours: Weekdays 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Facilities of the inpatient ward

TV hospital guide

You can see the hospital guide from one of the TVs (channel 7) available for each bed.
When you watch TV, use earphones so that you do not disturb others. (Earphones can be purchased at the store.)

TV cards

– TV cards cost 1,000 yen each.
– They can be purchased from the dedicated vending machine in front of the nurses’ station in each inpatient ward.
– The remaining amount can be refunded from the automatic settlement machine in front of #18 Emergency Outpatient Reception on the 1st floor.
*Automatic settlement machine hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Equipment that can be used with the TV card

TV 50 yen per hour
Refrigerator 100 yen per 24 hours
Washers and dryers Hours of operation:
6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Hot water dispenser

– It is located in the food service room. (Hours of operation: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
– The water is 95 degrees. Be careful of burns.

Bringing your own electronic devices

– You cannot bring an electric kettle.
– Hair dryers are available in the inpatient ward.
– You can bring a computer, but you are responsible for preparing your own communication equipment.
*Free Wi-Fi is available in the day room with the NCT Connect application.

Public phones

Public phones are available on each floor of the inpatient ward and beside the 1st-floor off-hours entrance.

Masks

Masks can be purchased at the store or from a vending machine.

Beverage vending machines

Available on each floor (except the 4th floor).

Post box

The post box is located outside of the main entrance.
Stamps and courier services are handled by the store.

Discharge

We work to maintain a system for accepting patients that require acute medical care. Therefore, we discharge patients when acute medical care is complete.
Talk to the ward staff regarding care after discharge.

Discharge time

Make preparations and organize your pickup so that you are ready for discharge by 11:00 a.m. on weekdays.

Check hospitalization fees.

Before going home

If you submitted a consultation ticket and medication during admission, remember to get them before leaving.
Ensure that you do not leave anything in the hospital room.
